My last Audition of 2012!

So back in November i was contacted by an acquaintance of mine who happens to be a independent filmaker. He has a  new project and  He asked if i would be interested in a role in it! I was excited as i have been following his work. And I had jokingly hinted at hopefully getting a part in it Lol

So this saturday i went on for the audition  i got there a little late due to me coming into grand central late due to the train. Dont you hate when you get a google maps time frame and then the train totally ruins that! Lol

anyway i got there and was slightly huffing and puffing lol Out came one of the producers who I know and he greeted me and told me i was fone, as i was thinking the worst (as always Lol) So i get one side and i go into read it and then the read was good. the guy who was reading with me wanted me to read it again, which worried me a bit.But i did it again and then went back outside to sit

Out come my friend with another side for me to read. I'm in my head like  " they want me to read again? Yes!" I recently watched Emayatzy Corinealdi from Middle of Nowhere (Excellent Film from this year!) Hollywood Reporter Interview. She said originally she read for a supporting part then they had her read for the lead and thats how she got it.  I didn't think anything like that would happen as the lead characters were set, but just the chance to read for another character was a good prospect.(I'm preying it happen later down the line)

So i go in and read and it was cool! The Production manager in the room said to the director "He's good". So i was happy that they enjoyed my read. So i left not knowing what was going to happen but , I was happy to know that i had a good audition and they possibly like me!

I hope everyone has been okay during the fall/winter season, I know I have been wiped out!
I've been M.I.A for like 4 months due to school. I'm at BMCC (Borough Of Manhattan Community College) finishing up my Theatre degree.This Fall semester was killer with 4 classes! Afro-American Music (Taught by a Caucasian professor that was cool ), Art Survey( A Newbie, By the book professor) , Theatre History ( My favorite professor) & Playwriting ( Not The default  Professor for the course, But I was Really Happy with her and the class!). So thats where i've been.

I know I could've of wrote, emailed something!School is crazy! As much as i have/had wanted to write and post stuff i get tied down with school work or the internship i had for a few months and just being tired from everything! LOL

But don't worry i have 1 class next term so...

I'm Coming back in 2013 Peoples! :-)

Ending The Summer....... Winning!

I'm apart Of A Winning Ebsemble!!!!!!

So A few months ago The Yotube Blog I was with Fiveblack guys had decided to part ways which had saddend me but still made me encouraged to do more (i. E. This Blog)

There was an award sponsopred by the adult industry called the Blatino awards in which they honor people in their given field as well as honoring people in the entertainment genre. So lat year before i joined the group they were 2nd place almost winning to be axact but up aganst a pretty worthy opponet Scorpon. Who is a Entertainment Gurur ! 

So I decided that as we are no longer a colective and we really and truly deserved some recognition in the communtiy. so with those thoughts in mind i WENT IN!. I made sure that we would get nominated by going into hyprer mode which meant going online almost every day and nominaying us (until the sytem recognized i was being crazy Lol)

Then the nominations came sout and i was thrilled! We Were nominated which meant that i had to go IN like i previously did and How Did I. As soon as the nominations came, i made sure to let people know about it and VOTE! You would've thought i was running for student body president! Lmao. I just wanted to be able to show that we may not be the main people on the scene but contary to popular belief we had a following

Being the newest eber i wanted to know that what i had contributed had made some sort of an impact or difference in the viewrship of the channel wheter good bad or indifferent. So why not help support my boyz and i who are up against people athat are a staple in black gay blogging!

So I just happened to be on Twitter and see that they're posting the winnwers via Twitter so i'm like well let me just keep and eye out. Already knowing that as expected Kevin would win. He is THE SHIT!!!! he knows w=everybody. everybody knows him , elebs and all.

I Immeduiately reposted the tweet (Of course) and hit up the fellas. I called Shawn who is like the ringleader and didn't get hin. Then i posted it on facebook abd i was chatting with the fellas Ty & Andre becuase they were in as much disbelief as i was. Then I finally got Shawn. He was Ironically in ATL and just saw the CReator Of The Awrd where he congraduklated him on winning. What are the odds of that happeneing

My 1st Reel

So Last summer I had the opportunity to study at Stellar Adler Acting Studio. I took an Acting For Film & Television course with Bill Hopkins.

It was a great experience in which i learned alot about the different focus between acting for stage which is what i'm used to and acting for camera. As I only had prior experience with background work i did years before and the short film MJMW i was in dring the summer

I did a couple scenes that were pretty cool and here is some of them!

Today Was A L&O Day!!!!!

One Step Closer To My Goal

Backstory..

I have made a goal to myself to get on Law & Order before the year ends. Even if it's playing Daquan in the projects who seen someone get shot or a witness getting grilled by Marishka


Anyway

So I got called the end of last week to background to  play a Boom operator in the episode and of course i was like Hellz Yeah!! It's not a lead

So I get to holding on Monday right on time. There's not that many people in holding. I  go check in and get settled and chill. So about an hour and a half later we all get called to go to set!

First stop was the prop truck. So i waited in line as all the press people got there props first then i got my props which was the Boom Mic, headphones and the battery pack thing. The prop guy tells me to test out the mic and make it comfortable for you. This was my first time using some technical props so it was interesting. you always see these mic when there shooting a movie or something

So the setup of the scene was that the press is getting  the recent criminal leaving the court heading to Rikers who apparently was a madame! So we all lineup near the exit of this police building. It was kinda hot so we all were like Hmmm LOL So I got my boom adjusted and was ready and they told us to start acting like  reporters and paparazzi. Anything that requires me to be loud and obnoxious is Great.... but when it's my first time at L&O SVU I will be restrained.

So we get through the first couple of takes great, with the exception of this kid playing a paparazzi that was shouting randomness! Lmao They then brought Brooke Smith onto set.

and most recently stint on Grey's Anatomy

 Apparently she is playing a woman also involved in the madame case. so we went through some more takes of her and the other madame leaving the courthouse and some with her alone. she seemed cool and fun, even thought i wasn't working close to her but none the less she seems nice.

So Then we were wrapped for a spare and my girl Tatiana came by so see me. She is one of my BFF's and she was picking up her audition DVD for The Voice that i did for her and was happy to do. Ever since my short time in Five Black Guys I've grown a slight love for editing videos and making them too. Before Tati's I did an audition tape for Mister's friend  who was trying out for project runway which i loved and he loved even more!  I think That;s my next outside recreational venture!... anywho

She stayed for a bit and in the midst of her leaving who walks into holding and is sits at a table somewhat across the room from me but NBC News Veteran....  Sue Simmons

Yes! Sue Simmons. So me being me LOL i just kept peeking every now and then at her. She seems so nice and down to earth but as an outsider i wasn't sure if i should just go up to her and say hello mrs Simmons i love you on the news or do a casual on my way to the bathroom hey mrs Simmons. I didn't get the courage and time to do either LOL

I attempted the go to the bathroom and then come out and say something but i totally moved passed the moment as she was chatting with some other guy. atleast i saw her!

So we go back to set and this time were at the classic courtroom steps downtown

and they have us just step up at the bottom of the stairs just acting out as if the reporters are anxiously awaiting the trial verdict and this Spanish family ironically come and decide they wanna take a picture on the steps so they do with their phone right in the middle of the shoot ... only in NYC

so we finish and then we get sent back to holding and then were wrapped. so i get mu luggage and head home. It was a cool experience but the next time I'm determined to be on the episode as a character not in the background!!!

All The Allongs Day 3 ....Farewell Brunch

OMG This Day finally came! LOL Me & Pop (More so Pop) was obsessing about us being responsible for doing Brunch at our house.We went out and got the box load of booze (as we do for every function) and we had got the bagels, bacon sausage OJ for mimosas and etc. Courtesy of Misters Mom we had Fried Chicken, Quiche and desserts and etc . She even came out and helped out with everything for a bit. she really was a tremendous help!

So right when she left is when everyone showed up. Thanks goodness it wasn't anything like auntie Pats yesterday! :-) It was like predicted the immediate family with the few exceptions which wasn't anything crazy! but there was enough food & Bake to go around! well the Bake went like water in the desert! Lmao as expected

But we had tables on the lawn and it was great summer weather for brunch! It was hot but good

and i finally sat down and ate which i never do when we have anything at the house and i grubbed for a minute before we started the memorable moments!

So Roben gave a nice speech about us as a family connecting more and keeping in touch and thanked everyone who was involved for their help and then Pops brother hughie gave a nice speech (kinda Long but that's him :-) and then Robin dad Pops brother Albert gave an interesting talk on the state of the family home in Trinidad that didn't fall on deaf ears! :-) LOL

then it was picture time which was ironically organized by my generation and through the funny organization we got some pretty great shots

It was a great way to end the reunion. Through all the stresses and worrying we went through it ended up being a memorable weekend. And what also made the days is that my peoples came through for my supposed after-party BBQ That the family still was there for Lmao

All The Allongs Day 2... Family Day!!!

So after Last Night  the Opening Festivities It was Family Day At Auntie Pat's One of My Favorite Aunt's as she knows, accepts and Loves that I'm The Family Eater!!!!! :-) Lmao Funny But True I Put It Away Everytime she cooks!!!!

Anyway She has a large backyard at here house in Long Island so she could host it and it was Great! WE did unfortunately miss the Meet and greet as people who didn't come last night cam out today But I was only focused on one thing, getting a picture of Pops and his siblings!!!!

This is literally the first time that Pops and his siblings will have been together in like 40yrs which was crazy!!! There has been times when they have come and visited but never all together in NYC at the same time so It was Awesome!


So after I got that moment, I had to get my plate! :-) LOL I got it and then proceeded to go outside as the house was full of people. It was alot more faces i hadn't seen & heard of so i was outside with the immediate family and the Bar! :-) LOL That's one of the great things about family functions sometimes. You can chill relax and unwind with your family and not worry about taking too much... It's Family!LOL

I say that because being the oldest cousin in my clan It was years before any of the girls could even go near a liquor bottle Lmao Now that they can, It's great I don't have to be the only alchie! Lmao NO but the girls don't even drink really it's in moderation and social.Perfect for me & Mister

So as soon as we got there I went towards the food as always! and got my plate and then went outside to the Backyard to kick it ith everybody.But with that said let's discuss the cousins aka the Trini Divas :-)

so time passes and here comes Nikki and she went to get her hair done and she comes in with her new do. She had Bangs and i was making fun of her as i usually do because i and the rest of the cousins say that's she's the ghetto one besides me. so i was like oh you think hot with yo bangs or whateva!

                                                      I'm all dat!! Lol


Then There's Kristin the up & comer. Since moving to Georgia she's been getting bolder .We called Rhionce because she was giving both Rhianna & Beyonce with her look

But The True Diva Right now Is Sara Lee. She always has an outfit! Last night she was giving cocktail party and yesterday she was giving you LI BBQ Couture with her fierce Flower headband!

My cousin Lea's new boo was there. It was Great to see her with him. They seem Happy so that's all that matters

and here crew of peeps as well. It was a interesting mixing of family and friends. They were all cool and funny and they livened up the party!

But One of the Highlights for me was that Misters Interactions with My Family. I'm just so lucky to have him be able to be in my life and my family (the Trini Side Especially) Welcome him with open arms and they all Love Him!

All The Allongs Day 1.....Cocktail Hour!

So 3 weeks ago we had our first successful family reunion!!

Day 1 was our cocktail hour at my cousin Roben's house in Harlem.I gotta say i would move there! She had the whole outdoor patio garden for the function! As we got there i was like okay i could do this. It was nice a large for an apartment in Harlem, but lets get to the family stuff!

But As usual all my cousins were there and mister was there of course as he is a member of the Allong's(for obvious reasons Lol).But It's always good to see my cousins

Especially Lauren & Kristin who moved down to ATL a few years ago and i only usually see them once a year! This time it was 2x because of Pops birthday! They are getting so grown and are blossoming into women one way or another LOL Kristin is to be a senior in high school and is talking about pursuing broadcast journalism which is exciting. To have a cousin who will be a broadcaster exciting.

also exciting is my cousin Sara lee who just recently graduated from John's Hopkins and is now home finally and ready to work! As well as her older sister Lea who just graduated from John Jay with Her Masters. All the Allong women of my generation are doing there thing and it's commendable!

So There was food and some light refreshments that was cool.I parked my self right near the food table (as always) and was grubbing and catching up with the cousins . All girls btw. I'm the only male cousin (by anatomy Lmao) But as the only and oldest male i take the responsibility as to make sure to check in and see how everybody is doing. Unfortunately the 2 girls missing were my cousins Jannelle & Gabby who are the military girls Jannelle was in Afghanistan  serving our country and gabby is at West point gearing up to do the same (i hope not lol). I'm proud of them as well because they are really learning about independence and survival skills! They do however have a Little sister Nikki who is the reincarnate of both of them which has it's pluses (she has heir humor, she's hilarious) and negatives (she is nothing like them, she's kinda Mixy LOL )

But anyway after we have to leave the courtyard we go up to Roben's apartment which is great! It was a 2 bedroom and it was really cool! She had this great entertainment stand that was like metal and frosts glass cabinets like in an office. But my favorite part was The Deck OMG it was HUGE!!! you could have a cute lil kiki with like 10 people on it! :-) which is huge for a NYC apartment for me atleast LOL

But it was great! we all were just winding down and then we all dispersed, But as usual Pops had to be pops.

Let me explain...

It's not a family function if Pops doesn't do or say something crazy & outrageous! I think that;'s where i get it from sometimes! Lmao anywho he as been drinking but not anything crazy as he is 80! he can easily get there then he used to and he seem to have lost his jacket and was looking for it so after finding it his daughter -in law (auntie Michele) responds "don't wear no jacket tomorrow"  in fun :-) she's a riot
