Final Day 3

Day 3   Last Looks

So On the last day it was a very chill day in a sense

So I get there do the usual and i got to KRAFT and I'm on a roll. I finally make my coffe and It's Tasty!! and i grab my favorite muffin a whole one and some sausage and a shit load of bacon Lmao

So as soon as i get back to holding and sit down preparing to tear it up!!! They call call us back to set! :-( I was like REALLY!!!! lmao I was ready and everything but it is what it is! so they call us the the back bar area and were awaiting to shoot the new scene. so my new friends i made from Thursday Aidan, Rachel, Jacob and cool Asian chic who's name i forgot. The thing with working background you meet so may people and you remember names for like 2 mins and then it's gone lmao anywho
we randomly see a corner that's not in the path of the AC tube that's blasting cold air everywhere and we call chill and we get cardboard and make a fort to keep us in the corner but we then call it FOURTE! a Luxury Hotel lamo so then i get picked to be in the scene. In this particular scene there are two sets of drama going on one is with Megan Hilty and derrick the director and Debra Messing and her husband !

So i get placed in the main living room by the fireplace with this cooky cool  lady with dreads and my girl Kymm also on hand! LOL so we have to be partying and then all of a sudden stop to liste into the drama thats unfolding! i so wanted to put my nosy black girl on it but yet again i have to remind myself I'm doing smash but that was cool . So in between takes I did get a chance to speak to Katherine Mcphee! I said "Hey Katherine  how you doing" and she responded " good How are you?" and i said "I'm hanging in there". She seems really nice and humble! I unfortunately didn't get to speak to Debra Messing! I di my occasional smile at here but i was never close enough just to giver her a hello! :-( But she seemed really into the scene itself even when she wasn't shooting she was chilling with her blackberry on the couch in the living room i wanted to speak to her but i figured she was busy. but she was having a grand ole time with here co-stars though so i guess maybe if i get called again that will be my first thing on my list of to do's

But all in all i had a great time working on SMASH i def would do it again :-)

Day 2 Jennifer Hudson OMG!!!!!!

Day 2    7/19      Jennifer Hudson    Best Day Ever!!!!!

So day 2 on SMASH was let's say awesome. So I get there as usual on Time. And after check in and everything else i decide to do like everyone else and go to KRAFT! It's a know thing for working background that KRAFT services is usually always available and it's usually great!!!! SO i thought why not so i went and grabbed me a cup of coffee (which i didn't put enough sugar in LOL0 and i grabbed a half muffin which was Amazing it was like apple cinnamon and delicious and some bacon. I know this seems like a random place, but i didn't wanna go to crazy and then get It is at like 10am Lmao

So we get back to holding and chill out and eat and I've made some more friends since yesterday so i chatted with a few. and then we got called to set.

So were filming a bar scene today and i get put in. Yaye! So we get placed in the scene by this guy named Ray he was very cool and treated us nice! So he then gives us the setup of the scene there going to shoot and then i hear the magic word what i wanted to hear since Wednesday: Jennifer Hudson!!!. He said "so the scene were doing is a scene where Jennifer Hudson's character is this known theatre actress and you'll see her enter the party and slightly notice here presence!. I'm already in my head Like OMG she's here She's really here.

Backstory: I Ironically wanted in my head for her to be here and I brought my Vogue that had here on it to have here sign it which i soo wanted to happen but I'm thinking she won't even be here it's the first episode of the new season!

So time passes and then she come on set!! She has this nice cream fitting dress and her heir in a little messy bun on the side of her head and she looks AMAZING!!!! I've never seen her in person so I'm like wow she is here!!! so they start the scene and I'm with this cool older guy I think his name was Ryan and Rachel the bartender and they yell action and I'm in my head like imma turn this scene out !!! lmao but i subtly acknowledge her when she walks in the room. so then the scene progresses to her and Katherine Mcphee character to then starts singing a duet... Yes A DUET!!! Jennifer Hudson is going to sing!! well she did. The song was awesome I'm not going to say what song it was because i don't want NBC to get me :-( all i'll say is that it's a Theatre classic!!! so a few mins pass and then ray asks who has a odd moth birthday and I'm in march so I'm like yes so he says after they sing the duet and we clap those odd moth people will go congratulate Jennifer and Katherine characters with a handshake OMG so I'm like I'm going to get to see her! so they yell action and they sing and t finish we clap and then I'm about to walk up to them then the 3 other people jump to them :-( and then everybody else joined in so I'm like REALLY!!!!! so i was like it's not going to happen

So let me get to the best part of the day!!!!

So were in the bar awaiting for them to start the scene up again but this time it's the entrance scene of Jennifer character and I'm now paired with my new homegirl Kymm and she already knows that I'm going in about Jennifer!! So I feel like now is my chance to speak to her because i may never get it. So she is walking in the bar area and i say "Hey Jennifer you were Singing Girl" and just then she says with a smile  "Huh" and proceeds to walk towards me and lean on me and say "Oh Thanks, I'm just trying to remember what i was thinking " then she and i laughed and she walks back to her mark OMG I DIED IN MY HEAD!!!!!!! All i could think and say to Kymm was OMG.... SHE JUST TOUCHED ME.......SHE TOUCHED ME!!!!!

So she finished then scene and then they said that she was wrapped and we all clapped and said by Jennifer and she said thanks guys You'll are so patient and i was like in my head girl you were worth waiting! I had another chance to possibly see/ meet her abut 6 years ago when i was working at the Soho Grand Hotel but I was unfortunately off the day she was at the Hotel so I like this turnout better!!!! 

  

3 Days At SMASH....Day 1 Anjelica Huston

So Last week I did Background work for SMASH. It was a great experience as i haven't done background work in what seems to be 5 yrs :-( LOL any-who lets discuss!!

Day 1 7/18 

So The first day i was there was cool. I got to the location like 20 min early. I wanted to be on time as i haven't been an extra in a MIN!  So i walked around and then found Holding which was inside a church building. so i went into holding and checked in, then get approved by wardrobe. I had one outfit(what I was Wearing LOL) so that was no biggie and then i with everyone else played the waiting game! I ran into Ryan  (the Aussie guy i saw at the casting) which was cool to see someone i sort of knew and i also saw everybody else that was there that day. so about 2 hours later we finally got called to set.

It was at the National Arts Club which is a a beautiful old world brownstone . It was a beautiful home in which everything was still in tact. So the first setup  I was in the upstairs lounge by the stairs as Megan Hilty character comes into the party which was okay. I struck up a convo with a cool lady who's name i forget :-( but pretty much after that we were a couple for the shoot LOL.So after that scene was done they moved us into the living room which was huge and then all of a sudden i see Anjelica Huston!''

I didn't Like OMG! or anything.I just was in my head like okay just smile at her. and i did! when i see celebrities that clearly don't notice or see me i think a nice smile is all that it takes to get noticed or having said you got to say hello to them! So they keep redoing the scene as tv & fil shoots go and her chair happened to be in the living room area where i was directly in front of me. so i decided to be my somewhat bold self!'I said as she sat down "Hey Ms Huston How are you doing?" now nervous... she replied "I'm doing good how are you" now more nervous/... I responded I'm doing pretty good hanging in there" she then said thats good it's such a hot day out there... then i said yeah i'm glad were shooting inside then we both laughed and smiled!

OMG i just had a little chit chat with Legendary Actress Anjelica Huston!!!!!

It's Good To Have Options

So yesterday i went to a interview for background work for the show SMASH. I got the call from Grant Wilfley Casting which do most of the good TV show and movie background castings (I'm trying to get them to know me Lol) earlier this week so i went to Greenpoint Brooklyn (somewhat of a trek with a garment bag of clothes)

The call is a for a theatre gala scene so they said bring 2 outfits. So i wore one and had another but i brought more option. I always ironically bring more clothes then needed even if i booked the gig because you never know.But in the back of my head sometimes I'm like what if they don't like anything or what if they just like what i have on.:-( LOl

Anywho I get to the address which was weird because the address was 44 but on one side of the street was all 49- and the other side there was a factory that had 50 so i was like WTF already sweaty from pumping from the train station which i first started walking the wring way due to google messing me up which always happens LOL I cross the street and ask and i find it right next to the factory. I go upstairs and then get signed in and wait to be brought to  the wardrobe fitting

Sitting in the room with like maybe 2 other guys a white guy with a British accent (which I later found out was Australian Lmao) and a Williamsburg esk family Black guy (skinny jeans , little backpack and American apparel tank) so I'm thinking I'm so not looking hipster enough :-( we go to the fitting and these two nice girls tell us put our stuff out on the rack and just stand by. Right after that these 2 people come in and the wardrobe and her chit chat and in the conversation i hear that he's with casting....OMG.

If i had any never i would've introduced myself gave him my business card( Thanks Vistaprint) or atleast say hello but it was too late they left the room Dang! So it's my turn to have my clothes evaluated and the girl goes through everything and I'm explaining what i brought and i say that i have other things at home and i didn't know if i didn't bring enough or too much and she says "No It's Great That You Brought Options". So that put me at ease :-) I'm doing the right thing! I'm hoping maybe she remembers me and plugs me for more episodes! :-) So she ironically like the outfit i was wearing and she threw a blazer on it.Then she took my picture and said this is what you need to ear next week.......

So does this mean that I'm in?? I'm like okay in my head but I'm still awaiting my email for confirmation that I', not just thinking that I'm that cute! Lmao But another bonus is that I got paid for the day which is an awesome PLUS!! That's the perks of being an extra they really appreciate you for coming. I'm just hoping that i do get it and Jennifer Hudson is on all 3 episodes I'm there for i would D.I.E I've been waiting for the day that i meet her and she can sign her VOGUE Cover. I had to get it when it came out and i know she's a skinny girl now but still i think she'll appreciate my fan appreciation!

So We Will See :-)

My Buddy Is Home :-) ....... :-'(

The ashes of my Dog Buddy Just arrived and I'm still Heartbroken!!!!! His death is still raw in my heart. He passed away 2 weeks ago at age 14 and His presence is just missing in me and my dad's life.

I think that as i got older and after my grandmother dies Pops grown a huge attachment to buddy as his companion and right hand man. Me on the other hand he was always regarded as my annoying little brother in my head LOL But as time passed he and Pop got older and they both ironically had the same medical troubles of heart & mobility issues. Pop with having a  mild heart attack and having spinal stenosis while as Buddy had an enlarged heart and arthritis as well as the veterinarian telling us a few months ago that he was past his "Expiration Date" as if he was a package of meat :-(

None the less they both were each others companion that got each other up and out everyday. Buddy started being affected by heavy breathing, walking up & stairs and having the need to Go a lot more frequent that before but he still was himself just slower.He still was a very anxious and rambunctious dog.

But the day 2 weeks ago i cam home and i saw him like ai never saw him and I did what i always do in tough times. I go into "Fix It " mode. I tried to figure out what i could do, found a hospital to take him to get the var ready but right after....he Left. I Honestly feel that He waited for me & Mister to get home before he decided to leave which i will always be thankful to him & God for. I know that i always had the thought in the back of my head that he would pass when i wasn't home, but I think he knew how much I loved hom. Even though i didn't show it enough , he knew

It's now awkward home because me and pop are so used to him being in the house, having to be walked, barking at people etc. The little things like for me hearing him walk around upstairs in the middle of the night and me thinking it was Pop! Lol  from when i come in and he either greeting me at the door wagging his tail or as of recent him just laid out sleep right by the door and not moving just looking up at e with the What Up Look! The recent thing was him going to take a leak on the bush in the backyard when Mister was with me or not every time we came home. so not having him around Hurts!

But I know that he is in a better lace and i bet he's with my Grandmother right now and there having a ball while she feeds him tootsie rolls! Lmao (yes tootsie rolls, i know dogs aren't to have chocolate but Buddy was Different) 

M Short Film Debut....Sort Of! Lol

So last night Was The Premiere of MJMW(http://www.mjmwthemovie.com/) A short film I shot last summer. It was my first film & short film experience. I played Michael A Drug Dealer Of The lead character. In my scene i sneak up on him and threaten him for my money. My girl Tati brought it to my attention last night that i'm always getting characters that are trying to get money Lol

The last project I had was the Play "I Love My Wife So I Will Not Cheat" which was a great experience. I was able to be the comic relief of the play which i LOVED!!!!! anywho I played Dexter The Crazy Jamaican lanlord (I Heavily suppressed my Trini accent, to a pint) anywho I think it's funny this is the 2nd character I'm playing that wants money. I can only hope I Play A Banker Or CEO next! LOL

Back to The Premiere.  :-) It was at the Anthology Film Archives in the east Village on 2nd ave.  SO I'm already 30mins late due to me having to get my hair done. I couldn't be a t a premiere whether it be a BIG Deal (IFC,network TV) or no deal at all (somebody's Friend videotaping! lol) So MY hair Looked FLY I mean FLY I even got complemented on the bus on the way home :-) So i get there and Mister ,My Cuz Trevon & My Girl aka lil sis Tati are there to greet me! I'm sweaty and starving thirsty and nervous. I eat a piece of pop tart and we walk up the steps! I see the director and the producer and there the red carpet. It was little but it was a red carpet with a backdrop as expected!

So I get the Director & producer and they say to my guest sign in and then we can take pics so i jump right into pictures I take one with the director and producer some of the cast then I take with My peoples! It was GREAT!! I felt like i had arrived sort of LOL We then go inside and get seats in the 2nd row and i got back out to see whats going on with the cast and such. As i only shot one scene i only knew the Lead character who i shot with James who ironically played James lol . I was able to meet the rest of the cast who all seemed to be nice.We were to do interviews before the doors opened but it looked like they were only doing the mains which made me feel a lil down but what made up for it was me taking my on pic on the red carpet (Pics coming soon!)

So we come to the big moment. The film starts I see my name in the credits and I'm excited!!! This is the first time any of us are seeing the film PERIOD!!! so I'm already nervous!! and then it comes my scene...and I Looked Great. I was nervous it was going to look a hot ghetto mess but i looked really good. No glasses and talking slang and beating the crap out of the druggie Lmao. I found out later that i squeezed the hell out of Mister's hand :-( It was my first time on the big screen! Everybody liked Including my cuz who said I gave TRADE which is a Big Deal! (for me atleast) I just want to be able to portray characters truthfully and not have to struggle to play straight which i know now I shouldn't have a problem doing!

So we go to the after party at Sutra Lounge which wasn't that far from the theater where they had dinner provided which was really great! I didn't get to eat that much as it was Indian and i was scared that the spiciness would hit me at a bad time (i.e the train ride home ) but i did however drink and they had a cake with the film poster on it which was cool!

Last but not least I got to do and Interview!!!! My first Press Interview . It was for a station called AVS which I'm assuming is an Indian Network. The Film Itself wasn't Indian or Bollywood (not saying I wouldn't do one!) it just happens that they're Indian. but either way it was great feeling and experience.I talked about the character and myself so it was great!!!

So all in all it was a great night for NOEL B. AUSTIN!!! Actor :-)
